WWE Cruiserweight champion Enzo Amore suspended after allegations of rape are made by Twitter user.
Enzo Amore has been suspended tonight after allegations of rape were made against him by Twitter user @MissGucciWitch. The user claims that Amore raped her on the 18th of October 2017 after being plied with cocaine, meth and marijuana by Amore, a woman named Layla Shapiro and a man named Tyler Grosso. The allegation is that Shapiro and Grosso invited the alleged victim to Amore’s hotel room where they plied her with the drugs until she “went into psychosis”, at which point Amore said he was going to rape her while the others asked him not to. The alleged victim claimed that the rape was brutal, she was left for dead and hasn’t had sex since. In another tweet she said that she has constant flashbacks, suffers from PTSD and was held in a mental hospital for 45 days following the alleged attack.
Following the allegations, Arizona police “confirmed that on Monday, October 23rd, 2017, at around 2:30 p.m., Phoenix Police responded to a local hospital for a call of a sexual assault that had reportedly occurred on October 19th, 2017 at 401 West Clarendon Avenue.” according to Dave Meltzer. WWE issued the following statement:
“WWE has zero tolerance for matters involving sexual harassment or sexual assault. Until this matter is resolved, Eric Arndt (aka Enzo Amore) has been suspended.”
Unravelling the Story
Clearly Enzo Amore knows the three people involved in this story as he posted videos of himself on Instagram with them in October. Ms Shapiro has strongly denied the allegations against the trio and there seem to be some uncertainties in @MissGucciWitch’s story as she said she was held in a mental hospital for 45 days but within that period there was activity on her Twitter account where she had tweeted about being in a cafe and being accused of stealing a pen, along with details of being in work. Since then she has changed her story, claiming that she left “rehab” after 26 days. In one tweet she had claimed to not remember anything due to the drug “psychosis” and in a later one vividly recalled the attack.
Other Twitter users have been quick to point out that the alleged victim has a YouTube video admitting to having lied about being pregnant on a previous occasion when a boyfriend had ended their relationship, that her Twitter features sexually explicit pictures of herself in the time period following the alleged attack that she sells via a private Snapchat and that she has recently tweeted about having had her nipples pierced. While none of these can be considered anything like proof that the allegations are false, all of them would put doubts on her story to the police investigating and it is hard to imagine that Enzo Amore would be arrested and charged. In the meantime, with Enzo Amore suspended indefinitely, he is likely to miss The Royal Rumble unless the investigation is closed very quickly.
